Georgina Masson. 1912-1980. Ediz. italiana e inglese
Georgina Masson (1912-1980) was a photographer, historian and passionate connoisseur of the architecture of ancient Rome. The author of many studies and biographies, she dedicated major interest to a study of Rome and Italian architecture, with particular attention to villas and gardens. As an expert on this subject, she published her own photographs in volumes such as "Italian Villas and Palaces" (1959) and "Italian Villas and Gardens" (1961). Upon her death she bequeathed her vast collection of negatives, dating from the mid-1950s through the 1970s to the American Academy. This exhibition catalogue reveals her anthropological interest in documenting local customs and life.
