L'Italia e altre commedie: L'Italia è una commedia. Lo è, in senso letterale, nel testo drammatico da cui prende il titolo questo libro. Lo è, metaforicamente, nel significato dantesco di comedia e, applicato al Belpaese, allude anche alla sua presunta capacità di condurre tutto a lieto fine, a "tarallucci e vino" si direbbe con un'accezione spregiativa e forse ingenerosa. Perché l'Italia sarà pure una commedia, ma di sicuro non è una farsa. Le tre pièce contenute nel volume questo lieto fine lo prevedono, sia per gli scopi che le ha viste nascere sia per le persone a cui sono state destinate. "I conigli di Fibonacci" è stata scritta nel 2009 come parte di un progetto di inclusione sociale, sostenuto da Fondazione con il Sud, a beneficio di un gruppo di ragazzi magrebini che vivevano in Sicilia. "La maratona" e "L'Italia" sono state messe in scena, rispettivamente nel 2008 e nel 2011, tra le mura della Casa circondariale di Siracusa. I detenuti, in entrambi i casi, hanno vestito i panni degli attori, confrontandosi con i temi a cui le opere rimandano: identità, diversità e senso di appartenenza. E scoprendo che il lieto fine è sempre possibile. The Italy is a comedy. It is, literally, in the dramatic text which gives it its title this book. It is, metaphorically, in Dante's comedia and meaning, applied to Italy, also alludes to its alleged ability to conduct everything with a happy ending, "tarallucci and wine" you'd think with a contemptuous and perhaps ungenerous. Why Italy will also be a comedy, but it's certainly not a farce. The three piece contained in volume this happy ending, both for the goals that saw the birth and for the persons to whom they were destined. "Fibonacci's rabbits" was written in 2009 as part of a social inclusion project, supported by the Foundation with the South for the benefit of a group of North Africans who lived in Sicily. "The Marathon" and "Italy" have been staged respectively in 2008 and 2011, within the walls of the home district of Syracuse. The detainees, in both cases, they dressed the role of actors, dealing with themes in which the works are reminiscent of: identity, diversity, and sense of belonging. And discovering that the happy ending is always possible.
