Paul VI and the church in Africa-Paul VI et l'église en afrique. Ediz. multilingue
Pope Paul VI was the first Pope who came to Africa. He had a special interest in the growth of the African Church and in the speech delivered in Kampala (Uganda) on July 31st 1969 he invited the Christians of Africa to become «Missionaries to themselves». A collection of contributions presented at the Conference organized in 2012 by Istituto Paolo VI (Brescia, Italy) and the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (Nairobi, Kenya) investigates in the light of the teaching of Paul VI some challenges and tasks the Church in Africa is facing today: the legacy of the Second Vatican Council, the theological foundation of missionary activity, the inculturation of Christian Faith, the questions regarding family and education, the responsibility for justice and peace.
