Il buco nel cielo: Il 17 ottobre dell'anno 2020 tutti i telegiornali trasmettono le immagini, subito virali, di un terribile evento catastrofico: si è creato un buco nell'atmosfera. Lo squarcio è proprio sopra la testa degli americani e l'ossigeno si sta disperdendo nello spazio. Scoppia il finimondo: i russi danno la colpa ai giapponesi, i giapponesi puntano il dito contro i coreani; il traffico aereo va in tilt e il costo delle bombole d'ossigeno sale alle stelle. I protagonisti del romanzo sono gli strani abitanti di un condominio in corso Casale, proprio nel centro di Torino, alle prese con il fantomatico buco nel cielo: l'anziano signor Losco, che si barrica nel suo appartamento dopo aver affogato il gatto della moglie e aver rubato tutte le piante dei vicini; Elisa, la portinaia con disturbi ossessivo-compulsivi, che vive indossando un paio di guanti per non contaminarsi; Giorgia, la moglie insoddisfatta che scrive una lettera a una vecchia amica per scusarsi di averle rubato il fidanzato dell'epoca, e tanti altri. Nelle settimane che seguono l'annuncio della fine del mondo, i personaggi si scontrano, le loro vite si intrecciano e non saranno più le stesse.
