Strategic Planning for Regional Development in the UK

The book brings together, in a single source, a coherent set of quality writings in the field of strategic regional planning. It aims to fulfill a need generated by a renewed emphasis in the UK on strategic regional planning enshrined in new style spatial strategies through recent legislation, including the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Bill (soon to become an Act). This legislation places upon regional bodies demands that they are currently poorly equipped to fulfill through lack of personnel experienced and trained in planning at this scale.
